Wedding Photography Workflow

Wedding photography generates large volumes of photos — ceremony, portraits, reception, and detail shots. This workflow shows how to use Phosor to cull a wedding shoot efficiently.
Overview
A typical wedding shoot can produce 1,000+ photos across multiple sessions. Phosor's keyboard-driven culling lets you sort through them quickly and distribute keepers to organized folders.

Categories reset on restart
Category configuration is not persisted between sessions. You'll need to set this up each time you launch Phosor. See Categories.
Step-by-Step
1. Open the Wedding Folder
Open the root folder containing all wedding subfolders. Phosor recursively scans nested directories, so all photos will be included.
Mixed formats
If you shot JPEG + RAW, both formats will appear in the photo list.
2. Configure Categories
Set up the categories above with keybindings, colors, and output folders.
3. Cull the Ceremony
- Use Single Mode for deliberate evaluation of key moments (vows, ring exchange, first kiss).
- Use Shift Burst for rapid sorting through similar sequences (processional, recessional).
Use metadata
Toggle metadata (⌘M / Ctrl+M) to check shutter speed and ISO when evaluating low-light ceremony shots.
4. Cull Portraits
- Use zoom and pan to check focus on eyes and details.
- Toggle the composition grid (⌘G / Ctrl+G) to evaluate framing.
5. Cull Reception
- Use Continue Mode (⌘B / Ctrl+B) for rapid sorting through dance floor and reception sequences.
- Adjust the burst interval to match your sorting speed.
6. Execute the Move
Once all photos are sorted, click Execute → to move them to their respective output folders.
Verify before executing
The move is irreversible. Review your category counts before executing.
Tips for Wedding Photographers
- Sort in passes: First pass for rejects, second pass for keepers, third pass for album selections.
- Use undo freely: Up to 100 levels of undo are available. Don't hesitate to experiment.
- Check focus at 400%: Use mouse wheel zoom to inspect critical focus areas.
