Metadata
Beta Status
Phosor is currently in an Internal Beta stage. Features may change before the public release. Performance may occasionally be inconsistent depending on hardware, image formats, and library size. Unexpected bugs may still occur. Feedback from beta testers is highly appreciated.
Phosor can display EXIF metadata for the current photo, including camera information, lens, exposure settings, and GPS coordinates.
Displaying Metadata
Opening the Metadata Panel

Alternatively, click the "Show" button in the Metadata section of the sidebar.
Closing the Metadata Panel
Press ⌘M / Ctrl+M again, or click "Hide" to collapse the panel.
Available Metadata Fields
The following fields are displayed when available:

Missing fields
Missing or unavailable fields display "—".
Behavior
- Metadata loads on demand, keeping the interface fast.
- The panel is hidden by default to maximize the visible photo area.
- Metadata updates automatically when navigating to a new photo (if the panel is visible).
- For RAW files, metadata and dimensions are extracted from the original file.
Why metadata matters
Metadata provides context for culling decisions — for example, checking ISO or shutter speed to evaluate noise or motion blur.
Current Limitations
- Metadata is not available for remote/URL-based images.
- Some RAW files may have limited EXIF data depending on the camera.
- GPS coordinates are displayed as raw decimal values, not as a map link.
