Beta Status
Phosor is currently in an Internal Beta stage. Features may change before the public release. Performance may occasionally be inconsistent depending on hardware, image formats, and library size. Unexpected bugs may still occur. Feedback from beta testers is highly appreciated.

General
What is Phosor?
Phosor is a desktop application designed to help photographers quickly browse, evaluate, and organize large collections of photos. It provides a fast, keyboard-driven culling experience in a lightweight, single-file application for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Is Phosor free?
Phosor is currently available only through an Internal Beta program.
The public release is expected to adopt a freemium model.
Current planning (subject to change):

- Up to approximately 500 photo moves per session or per folder.
- Premium tier:
- Unlimited usage.
- Additional productivity features.

Pricing and limitations are not final and may change before the public release.
Is Phosor non-destructive?
Yes. Phosor moves original files to organized folders without modifying their contents. Your photos are never altered.
What platforms does Phosor support?
Phosor runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux as a single-file application. See Installation for details.
Supported Formats
What file formats does Phosor support?
Phosor supports JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, and several RAW formats (Canon CR2, Nikon NEF, Sony ARW, Adobe DNG, Olympus ORF, Panasonic RW2). See Supported Formats for the full list.
Does Phosor support HEIC/HEIF?
No. HEIC/HEIF is not currently supported. See Unsupported Files for the full list of unsupported formats.
Does Phosor support RAW files?
Yes. Phosor supports Canon CR2, Nikon NEF, Sony ARW, Adobe DNG, Olympus ORF, and Panasonic RW2 RAW files. See RAW Preview for details.
Workflow
How do I sort photos?
Navigate using arrow keys and press a category's bound key to assign the current photo. The application automatically advances to the next photo. See Sorting Photos for details.
What is the difference between Single Mode and Continue Mode?
In Single Mode (default), pressing a category key assigns the photo and advances. In Continue Mode (⌘B / Ctrl+B), holding a category key repeatedly assigns photos at a configurable interval. See Sorting Photos for details.
Can I undo sorting actions?
Yes. Phosor supports up to 100 levels of undo (⌘Z / Ctrl+Z) and redo (⌘⇧Z / Ctrl+Y). See Sorting Photos for details.
Is the Execute (move) operation reversible?
No. The move operation is irreversible. A confirmation dialog warns about this before proceeding. See Recommended Workflow for details.
Are my categories saved between sessions?
No. Category configuration (names, colors, keybindings, output folders) is not persisted between sessions. Each launch starts with two default categories. This is a known limitation. See Known Issues for details.
Performance
Why is navigation slow?
Navigation should be fast. If it's slow, check for very large JPEG files or memory pressure. See Performance for details.
Does Phosor cache images?
Yes. Frequently viewed images reopen instantly. Adjacent photos are also preloaded in the background. See Preview Engine for details.
Why does performance sometimes vary?
Performance in Phosor depends on several factors:
- Hardware specifications — CPU, memory, and GPU capabilities affect preview loading and navigation speed.
- Image resolution — Higher-resolution images require more processing time.
- File format — RAW files may vary in processing time and file size.
- Storage speed — SSDs provide faster access than traditional hard drives.
- Library size — Larger libraries take longer to scan and may impact memory usage.

Performance optimization is ongoing throughout the beta. You may notice improvements in successive releases.
