This page outlines planned improvements and features under consideration for future releases of Phosor.

Planned Improvements

Format Support

  1. Canon CR3 support

  2. Add support for .cr3 files from newer Canon cameras.

  3. Fujifilm RAF support

  4. Add support for .raf files from Fujifilm cameras.

Documentation Improvements

  1. Quick Start Guide

  2. Create a one-page quick-start guide covering the essential workflow (open folder → configure categories → sort → execute) for users who want to get started immediately.

  3. Video Tutorial

  4. A short (2-3 minute) video demonstrating the keyboard-first workflow would help users understand the speed advantage of Phosor.

  5. Format Compatibility Chart

  6. A visual chart showing which camera models' RAW files have been tested and confirmed working would help users know if their specific camera is supported.

  7. Keyboard Shortcut Cheat Sheet

  8. A printable PDF cheat sheet with all shortcuts and space for custom category keybindings.

UX Improvements

  1. Persist Category Configuration

  2. Save categories, colors, keybindings, and output folders between sessions so users don't have to reconfigure on each launch.

  3. Sidebar Collapse Toggle

  4. Add a button to manually hide/show the sidebar on large screens for users who want maximum photo viewing space.

  5. Fit-to-Screen Shortcut

  6. Add a keyboard shortcut (e.g., ⌘0 / Ctrl+0) to reset zoom to fit-to-screen, and ⌘1 / Ctrl+1 for 100% zoom.

  7. Sort by Date/Name

  8. Add an option to sort the photo list by filename, date taken, or file size instead of filesystem order.

  9. Category Reordering

  10. Allow drag-to-reorder categories in the sidebar.

  11. Visual Undo/Redo History

  12. Show a small indicator or list of recent actions that can be undone/redone.

  13. Move Preview

  14. Before executing, show a summary of which photos will go to which folders, allowing users to verify before committing.

  15. Batch Clear Flags

  16. Add a shortcut to clear all flags (or all flags for a specific category) without executing a move.

  17. Photo Count in Empty State

  18. When no supported files are found, show how many total files were in the folder (to help users understand why nothing was found).

  19. Window State Persistence

    • Remember window size, position, and sidebar width between sessions.
