Continue Mode

Beta Status

Phosor is currently in an Internal Beta stage. Features may change before the public release. Performance may occasionally be inconsistent depending on hardware, image formats, and library size. Unexpected bugs may still occur. Feedback from beta testers is highly appreciated.

Continue Mode is a global toggle that enables rapid, repeated sorting while a category key is held. When enabled, the footer button label changes to "Continue" and a burst interval input appears.

Enabling Continue Mode

When Continue Mode is enabled:

  • The footer button label changes to "Continue".
  • A burst interval input field appears in the footer.

Using Continue Mode

  1. Toggle Continue Mode on (⌘B / Ctrl+B).
  2. Press and hold a category key to repeatedly assign photos at the configured interval (default 200ms).
  3. Release the key to stop the burst.

Compare with Shift Burst

Shift Burst (Shift + category key) provides temporary burst sorting without toggling Continue Mode. See Burst Mode for details.

Burst Interval

The burst interval controls how quickly photos are assigned during burst sorting.

Adjusting the Interval

You can adjust the burst interval by:

  1. Typing a value directly into the input field.
  2. Dragging the input field horizontally (scrubbable).
  3. Using arrow keys while the input field is focused.

Scrubbable input

The burst interval input field is scrubbable — click and drag horizontally to adjust the value. This is faster than typing or using arrow keys.

Expected Behavior

  • In Single mode, pressing a category key assigns the photo and advances.
  • If the current photo is already assigned to the pressed category, it simply advances without re-assigning.
  • In Continue Mode, releasing the category key stops the burst.
  • Burst mode is automatically disabled if the assigned category is deleted.
  • All sorting actions (single and burst) are recorded in the undo history.

Current Limitations

  • Burst mode does not pause when reaching the last photo — it wraps around.
  • There is no visual indicator for which key is currently in burst mode beyond the toast notification.
  • Rapidly toggling Continue Mode while a burst is active may leave the burst in an inconsistent state.
